Workability and Physical Wellbeing Among Chainsaw Operators in Croatia

Motor-manual felling and wood processing is a high-risk work process where the chainsaw, in connection to other variables working environment, key constant source of risk danger for forest chainsaw operators. Pursuant foregoing, purpose this research investigate compare detected musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) symptoms among workers Croatia according their employer (state company – Hrvatske šume Ltd. or private forestry contractor) self-evaluated Workability Index. A combined three-stage method was used: (a) defining sample; (b) preparation administration questionnaire; (c) data analysis elaboration. The Standardized Nordic Questionnaire (SNQ) used as medium detect operators Index (WAI) questionnaire workability self-evaluation. field part face-to-face collection conducted first quarter 2022 with total 158 sampled interviewed directly at worksite. Descriptive inferential statistical methods were verify analyze data. anatomical area highest 12-month period prevalence MSD all low back (70.89%), followed by shoulders (41.14%), neck (39.87%) wrist/hands (36.71%). Research results, employer, showed that employed have higher almost locations compared contractors.
